About the Project
Talk Dirty To Me (TDTM) is an interactive art installation that transforms
a vintage payphone into a portal for anonymous storytelling. Callers can listen to
recorded messages from strangers and leave their own anonymous recordings for others to discover.

How It Works
When you call, you'll hear a welcome message and can interact using your phone's keypad:
- Press * + 3-digit extension (e.g., *001) - Listen to a specific recording
- Press * + 1/2-digit extension + # (e.g., *1# == *01# == *001) - Listen to a specific recording
- Press 9 - Hear a random recording
- Press *069 - Record your own message (up to 2 minutes)
- Press 7 - Subscribe to SMS updates
Consent & Terms of Use
By Calling This Number, You Agree To:
- Receive audio content: You will hear pre-recorded messages and system prompts
- Recording consent: If you choose to record a message (by pressing *069), your voice recording will be saved and may be played back to other callers
- Anonymous participation: No personal information is collected or stored beyond your voice recording (if you choose to leave one)
- Content guidelines: Recordings should not contain illegal content, threats, or personally identifiable information about others
Opt-In Process: Participation is entirely voluntary. By dialing the phone number,
you are actively choosing to engage with this art installation. You may hang up at any time
to end your session. Recording a message requires an additional deliberate action (pressing *069).
What We Collect
- Voice recordings - Only if you actively choose to record by pressing *069
- Phone number for SMS - Only if you subscribe to updates by pressing 7 (see below)
- No personal data - We do not collect names, emails, or any other identifying information
How to Opt-Out
- Simply hang up at any time during the call
- Do not press *069 if you do not wish to leave a recording
- Do not press 7 if you do not wish to receive SMS updates
- Contact us to request removal of a specific recording
SMS Subscription Consent
Weekly Update Notifications
You can subscribe to receive weekly SMS notifications about new recordings added to TDTM.
By pressing 7 during a call and confirming your phone number, you consent to receive
automated text messages from this number.
What You'll Receive
- Weekly digest - One text message per week (Sundays) when new recordings are available
- Message content - Brief notification of new recording extension numbers to try
- Frequency - Maximum of 4 messages per month (weekly)
How to Subscribe

- Confirm using your caller ID, or enter your 10-digit phone number manually
- Press 1 to confirm your subscription
How to Unsubscribe
- Reply STOP to any message to immediately unsubscribe
- You can also reply CANCEL, QUIT, END, or UNSUBSCRIBE
- Reply START to resubscribe at any time
- Reply HELP for assistance
